A former art gallery and gathering spot at Myers Park High School has been enhanced to create a student wellness space that promotes introspection, inclusion, health and wellness. Dedicated to the memory of former MPHS student Jason Huff, the branded room includes a custom mountainscape mural by a Myers Park teacher, lounge areas with floor pillows (teenagers love them!), game tables, rocking chairs and space for yoga or other mindfulness experiences. The room has large existing fireplaces that now have neon for flames, and the mustang over the fireplace symbolizes the strong school spirit. The wellness room provides a safe space at school for students to ‘chill out’.
