A mid-century modern design dream! This building’s former life as a dry cleaner allowed us to keep the bones and many original elements intact for its new incarnation as a wine store, including original terrazzo floors and subterrain rooms for keeping wine at temperature. We complemented the space's existing angles with wood features and period-appropriate lighting and furniture, along with marble and wood fluted millwork and mixed metals on hardware and fixtures. The wallcovering, stair railings and art details provided finishing touches. We created intimate areas for wine tasting, intermingled with retail shelving for wine and accoutrements. The tasting room and private dining space on the lower level provide multiple spaces to entertain guests, while the cave for private storage shines behind glass windows visible from the retail space.
