Sea Level

5,500 SF

Hearst Tower, Charlotte, NC

How does it get any better than a creative design challenge like Sea Level?  The client wanted to tell a story, not just open a restaurant with a focus on farm-to-table, fresh seafood. Without being literal, they wanted the space in concrete-and-glass uptown Charlotte to connect diners with the acres of coastal marshes where their seafood grows; to introduce them to the generations of family in Sea Level, NC that farm the restaurant’s eponymous oyster. The design is such that it can "go on the road" to other locations and be replicated and understood.  Our end result?  A combination of oyster shell colors, reflective glass tile, industrial "worn" light fixtures, wood and brick accents plus a killer new entry patio with a crushed oyster wall.
